Now we are going to represent a use case where Rolling Start is used for our Drip Schedule. In this particular case, a series of English classes are created in a track and it happened to be called Student Track A and it has a long series of courses that students are supposed to take from week to week. If we click on the Drip Schedule, you will see that the course is using Rolling Start and the way that it is configured is that each week, the student receives two lessons and not all students are starting at the exact same time, but as soon as you start on this track, you are supposed to receive two courses every week and if you do not finish your courses, the following week, there are four courses waiting for you. The goal is to have a teacher consistently pushing the student to finish the course assigned for a given week, but if a student is sick, when he comes back, he can quickly catch up to where he is supposed to be. The nice thing about the Rolling Start is that when you start, as long as you continue to work on the course, you can always catch up to where you are supposed to be based on the Rolling Start schedule. The main difference here compared with prerequisite is that the course will open up to the learner as time passes instead of waiting for a prerequisite course to be completed and notice that the Rolling Start is used instead of Global Calendar because each school who have purchased this product will start at a different time. That's the main difference between the Rolling Start and the Global Calendar.
Video Summary
In this video, the use case of Rolling Start for a Drip Schedule is demonstrated. A track called Student Track A is created with a series of English classes that students are expected to take weekly. The Rolling Start feature is configured so that each week, students receive two lessons. The advantage of Rolling Start is that students can start at different times but still receive the required courses each week. If a student falls behind, they can easily catch up. Rolling Start differs from prerequisites and Global Calendar in that it allows courses to open up to learners over time, based on when they start. No credits are mentioned in the video.
