you have had a lot of success selling your training program because you have bothered to create three languages for your target audience and you start getting requests that they would like to have an exam, a full-length final exam at the end of the training program to get them ready for the certification exam that they will sit for. So basically, what they really want, your target audience is saying that they want the last module, let's say 84, is a preparation exam. So that's obviously very easy to do. All you have to do is you click on Add Child, and let's pretend that this final exam is the one that we're going to add. So when you do this, anyone who has selected Dutch will have access to the exam. Fairly straightforward. Now, and let's see how that works first. So what we're going to do is we're going to purchase the exam, purchase the product, and select Dutch. So I'm going to pause the video, make the purchase, and then resume the video. So now I resume the video. If we scroll all the way down, we notice that it has a final exam. So this is perfect, except that suppose you have two groups of audience. One audience says, I don't really care about the exam and I don't want to pay more because there is an exam. And another group of users says, I really need the exam and I don't care how much it costs. I would like to pay for it. So what you can do is you can continue to sell your product for $500. And then what you can do is you can make the exam that some people might be willing to pay a lot more money for as the add-on to the multi-part. So let's show how the experience is going to look when you enable that option. So we're going to navigate to the Dutch and then what we are going to do is, let's wait for the computer to load. Okay. So we're going to go to multi-part setting. We're going to turn on an option that says allow child as add-on. What this means is, it's saying that even though typically a product will always, anyone who have access to the parent will have access to all the children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I would like to make some exception. And in this particular case, you can say that I want to make the final exam as the exception. So when you do that, if we go back to the product, visually, we'll show you how you know exactly how many add-on there is. So normally, it's going to be a red circle for required and blue circle for optional. But if you have an add-on, it's going to be a plus icon, suggesting that it is an add-on. And the user who bought the top course does not automatically have the child course. And then click into it, you're going to have one extra field that you do not typically see for a course that's a multi-part course, that's a children of a multi-part course. And that is the price. So normally, if a course is a child or grandchild of a multi-part, the price field is blocked because you're not supposed to charge more for a child. So in this case, I can say, okay, I'm going to charge another $250 for the add-on of the final exam, so that even though you bought the whole thing, you have to pay a little bit more for this. Now, keep in mind that this add-on idea does not always have to be used to charge more things. You could, let me just go back to edit, you could actually use the course enrollment rule, so that a different user logging into the same product will actually see different add-ons that are free, but depending on who they are, they get different add-ons. And we're going to create another video to highlight exactly how to do that. But this time, we are only going to focus on add-on where the add-on costs more money. So now, if I go back to the learner view, and I go back to the training that I have, if I scroll all the way down, you will see that the final exam is not clickable until I pay. It says additional purchase is required, so I had to actually go through and make the payment. Then, I will be able to have access to this child course, even though I have already paid for it. So, let's just finish the process to show you how the add-on works. There we go. So now, if you start, you will actually start the whole exam, and if I go back to the course, here we go, let me go back to the course, here, you will see that it is available again. So, keep in mind, this is actually how you can have a pretty extensive multi-part course, and then you can parse out some component that might be more value for a certain audience and charge more for those who don't want to pay. That might be more value for a certain audience and charge more for those components.
Video Summary
The video discusses the process of adding a final exam as an add-on to a training program. The speaker mentions that after receiving requests from their target audience, they decided to create a preparation exam for certification purposes. They demonstrate how to add the exam as a child course to the program, available only to those who have selected Dutch as their language. They also mention that some users may not want or need the exam and don't want to pay extra for it, while others are willing to pay for it. The speaker explains how to enable the option to charge more for the add-on exam and shows how it appears visually in the product. The video concludes by mentioning the possibility of offering different add-ons based on user profiles.
