we have created an Excel file that clearly lists all the question authors who will be writing questions, which category they are supposed to write questions for, who is reviewing questions within a category, and who is the second level reviewer for the overall topic. And we have already loaded all the questions into the system. Next step is we will actually assign the questions to each author with clear instructions on what to do next. To do this, we'll go to the exam and we'll click on Writer Assignment. As you can see, so far we don't have any assignment yet. We will click on Add New Assignment. And we will select the topic that we want to assign, and we'll click on Assign button within the topic we desire. So as soon as I click on Assign, the system is going to load all the writers that has been added in the system for the exam. For our purpose, we will grab the first author, which is Andrew Kutz. We'll find Andrew Kutz. And we know that we're supposed to request Dr. Kutz to write five questions. And we have the option to freeze the category or allow Dr. Kutz to select the category they want. In this particular case, we will freeze the category so that we know exactly which topic the question will be coming from. We can also send an email to them informing which question has been assigned. For illustration purpose, we'll just uncheck the box. And then we'll click on Save. The next step will list all the five questions that we are about to create. Notice OASIS will go ahead and create a stop question for the author so that when the author logs in, they will be able to finish the question that has already been created for them. In this case, you'll see that the name of the author is part of the question title and the name of the topic is also listed in the topic. That way, we can quickly and easily identify whose question and which topic the question covers. We also have the option to click on which objective the particular question should cover. In almost all cases, you should explicitly say what the question is supposed to cover or question authors tend to write very similar questions without colluding. So we'll actually type in the objective. For the purpose of this illustration, we're just going to type in some dummy data. So please help learner identify something 1. We'll pretend that's an actual legitimate objective, even though in reality, you should type in some objective that's meaningful. Then we will click on Finish. Now, if we have checked the box to email the author, Dr. Kutz will have received the email and we have also created five stop questions for Dr. Kutz to complete. Next, we can create more assignments. In this case, we will quickly go to Dr. Ricchetti, Eric Ricchetti. There we go. We select five questions and we'll also freeze the category and we'll click on Save. As you can see, similar format, again, five questions that has been allocated for the author and we're just going to type in something again. Once again, we should put in something meaningful when we're actually writing questions, but for this tutorial, we'll just put in something that's a dummy placeholder. You can also freeze objective if you want to be very stringent on exactly which topic and which objective the author is supposed to write questions for. Then we can click on Finish. We will basically do this for every single author that has been listed in the Excel file. This concludes the third tutorial on question writing and reviewing within OASIS.
Video Summary
In this video, the speaker explains the process of assigning questions to different authors using an Excel file and a system called OASIS. They mention that the Excel file lists the question authors, the categories they are assigned to, the reviewers for each category, and the second-level reviewer for the overall topic. The speaker demonstrates how to assign a topic to an author, in this case, Andrew Kutz, with clear instructions on how many questions to write. They also mention the option to freeze the category or allow the author to choose. The video concludes by stating that this process will be repeated for all authors listed in the Excel file. No credits were granted in the video.
