Video tutorial continues where the last video tutorial left off, where after you disable the question, you might want to replace the disabled question with a brand new good question. In OASIS, the system will always try to generate as many questions as FLAG as required, even if the question was disabled. So in our case, if we go to the exam, notice that we had 5 questions, and the system is configured to require 5 questions. And because of that, even though one of the questions is disabled, it will still use that question for all future learners. The only caveat is, those users will get a freebie question because the disabled question will automatically be flagged as correct. Now, if you want to give the new question for all the new users, what you have to do is, you have to take the exam offline to quickly add the question and then put it back in publish state. So that's what we're going to do. We're going to take the exam to edit status so that we can add a new question that's a replace question for the disabled question. So we're going to go, now that we disabled it, we're going to make sure that it says it's open for writers so that you can add a question. The system is very strict that if the exam is no longer allowed to have new questions, you won't let you add a question. All of these checkpoints are meant to help you avoid making mistakes. So we're just going to click on add a question and let's call this our replacement question. So I'll just make correct answer one just so that we know that's the right answer. So now, if I go back to the product, I should have six questions with one being disabled and five enabled. So notice I created the six, but only five is mapped to it. So now what we're going to do is we're going to map the new question to the exam. So once again, we go to populate question. Keep in mind that don't click on add to exam because if you do that, the questions are being re-added, including the one that was disabled, so that the fact that you had disabled one of the questions will be lost. What you want to do in this case is let's just grab the question ID because that is a new question we're creating, and we're just going to paste it here and click on add. We verify that's right. We click on confirm add. So now what we have done is we created six questions and all six questions are mapped. The only difference is one of the six is disabled. At this point, any new user that is going to take this exam will have any new learner that will take the exam after I make this change will receive the five questions that's enabled or good without getting the disabled question. And let's see how that works. So first we need to do is keep in mind we have put this back to the edit status, so we need to publish it again. So here we go. So we go walk through the steps. So now that it's published, we're going to go through the learner process to see what the learner sees. Hopefully the learner sees a new question without the old disabled question. Here we go. Let's get started. So notice all five questions are light up and the disabled question is no longer there. So let's just quickly answer these questions. Notice the replacement question is here, and that is because this is a new question that's going to be included in all the future exams, and the one disabled question will no longer be used. And the system knows that it will always try to use enable question as much as possible. So now we're just going to go through this flow. And I submit, and I should get 100%. Notice that the five questions I used are the five good questions.
Video Summary
In this video tutorial, the instructor explains how to replace a disabled question with a new question in the OASIS system. The system generates a specific number of questions required for an exam, even if some questions are disabled. The disabled question is flagged as correct, giving learners a freebie question. To add a new question for future learners, the exam needs to be taken offline temporarily to add the replacement question. The process involves clicking on "add a question," naming the replacement question, and making sure it has the correct answer. Once published, the exam will have all six questions, but only five will be enabled. Learners will not receive the disabled question in future exams.
