Login as administrator and then click on add a course. The type of exam Oasis calls this is time released exam which is available under assessment exam. So we just call it example of time released exam. So I will call it time released. And because we are doing just a sample and then we don't want to focus on the type. We don't want to focus on writing the actual questions. We're just going to pick a few topics where we already have questions and then we keep it as a private enrollment just so that when I go through this demo nobody accidentally see the course on the catalog. So we're going to skip over non-essential settings and because it's a time-based time released exam user answer questions one per day or one per week. So you want the user you probably want the user to see how they did on that day. So you want to make sure it's learning mode and let's say we make it a 40 question exam. So click on continue. So let's say we have a passing grade and then we make it let's say 70 percent and we give user one chance to reset. Notice that there is a question availability which 99 percent of the time has always been selected as standard. In this particular case you want to be time released so that the user will gain access to the questions based on drip schedule. And we're just going to keep the question generation as static and we don't want to do a duration because you won't match logically with the fact that the exam is time released. So we're just going to click continue and we're going to skip this step and then we'll populate the questions later. And keep in mind that you can still randomize the questions. Oh you cannot randomize the question sequence because you are setting up which question is the first position which question is the second position for everyone. So this needs to be in the same sequence for everyone and you cannot allow user to print the exam book out because the question is supposed to be released one at a time or a set at a time and you don't want user to be able to print out the exam book with all the questions in the very beginning. However you have the option to say I want to print out the answer book which is all the questions with the user's responses and the answer key in a pdf after the user has finished the exam. This is what we refer to as the answer book and you don't have to turn it on if you don't want to. So now we have created the exam what we're going to do is we're just going to populate some questions and as I mentioned earlier we are going to just use existing questions from item bank in this system to show the example. So I have four topics I'm just going to pick 10 topic from each one there we go we're just going to pick 10 questions from each topic just to actually we're going to make it slightly more than 10 on some topics just so that it's not as uniform as it has to be. So arrhythmia this one I'm going to pick say there we go and next one so obviously there's a variety of ways that you can populate questions into the exam this is just sort of the easiest way to go about without having to pay attention to what actually is in the question whether the question is good or not I'm just randomly picking questions and the last topic we already have 29 so I need to add the 11 more so here we go so I just need 11 oh we don't have nine from this topic so that's fine uh we have 20 38 we just need to add two more so here we go I'm just going to pick two more for the first topic one two one two all right so now we're good to go what we're going to do is we're just going to publish it oh actually before we do that one thing that's very important is because it is a time released what we need to do is we need to actually set the release schedule and then we're going to do this in the next video tutorial
Video Summary
In the video, the speaker demonstrates how to create a time-released exam using the Oasis platform. They login as an administrator and navigate to the "add a course" section. They explain that they will be creating a sample exam with a few topics and questions already available. They adjust the exam settings, including making it a learning mode, setting a passing grade of 70%, and allowing the user one chance to reset. They also ensure that the questions will be released based on a drip schedule and cannot be printed by the user. Finally, they populate the exam with questions from the system's item bank. The speaker notes that in the next video tutorial, they will cover how to set the release schedule for the exam. No credits were mentioned.
