Video Transcription
In this video tutorial, we will go over how to upload a video and have its video analyzed and closed caption automatically generated. So on my screen right here, I already have a course set up and it has a lot of things already built in. The only thing that it doesn't have is under content. It doesn't have any content imported. So what we're going to do is we're just going to add a single video and for demonstration purpose. What we would do is we're actually going to grab a video that I already have from that have already uploaded in Dropbox just so that it is easier for me to download. OK, so I'm going to paste this link directly from Dropbox and for the title of it. I'm just going to grab. Give me one second. I'm just going to grab the name of the title. There we go. And that is really just so that it's a fairly fast for me to get the video into the system without having to upload a large file by downloading directly from Dropbox. It's just easier. What I want to bring your attention to is the fact that closed caption now has multiple options. By default, it is auto generated and I'm just going to leave it as auto generated just so that we can see exactly what that means. OK, so now the system is downloading the file, which is 1.4 gigs. And it's going to do everything that Oasis has always done when it's come to processing the video, including transcoding it to make sure that you will play on all the browsers, including upload it to Amazon so that it's going to be delivered from the Amazon cloud, which is going to be much, much faster because Amazon actually make a copy of the video and distribute it across all the network edges. And it will also now with a new feature, Oasis will also take the video and convert, not convert the video, but transcribe the video into closed caption so that you will automatically get the closed caption from the video you upload without having to upload a VTT file. Now, keep in mind, if you had the VTT file, you can click on menu upload and continue to do what you used to do. But Oasis will generate the closed caption for you automatically if you just keep the default selection. So what I'm going to do now is I'm going to pause the video because 1.4 gig takes some time to transcode and transcribe. I'm going to resume the video once the video has been transcoded and then transcribed. So I am resuming my recording now after the video has been uploaded. So the first thing I would like to highlight is what the closed caption looks like. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to publish. So remember, all I have done so far is showing how to upload a video where I kept the closed caption as default, which is auto generated. I have not done anything else. OK, now what I'm going to do is I'm going to come over here and I'm going to I have logged in as John Smith and I'm going to take this particular course. And then we'll see what the closed caption looks like when it is automatically generated. So here we go. I'm going to go to the course. I'm going to click on access and I'm going to click on play. So as you can see here, the closed caption is automatically generated and it's I did not hire someone. I did not use some program to do this. It's automatically generated just by you uploading the video to Oasis and the Oasis will automatically display it. Now I can turn it off so that you don't show it or you can turn it back on so that you do show it. Thank you.
Video Summary
The video tutorial demonstrates how to upload a video to Oasis and automatically generate closed captions. The presenter imports a video from Dropbox using a link and mentions that closed captioning now has multiple options, with auto generation being the default choice. The system processes the video, including transcoding and uploading it to Amazon for faster delivery. The new feature in Oasis transcribes the video to generate closed captions without the need for a VTT file. The presenter pauses the video to wait for transcoding and transcription to complete. After publishing, they log in as John Smith and show how the automatically generated closed captions appear while playing the video. They emphasize that the closed captions are generated by Oasis without the use of external tools.
