Video Transcription
In this video tutorial, we will show alternative ways of doing featured courses on the catalog. Up until now, you can feature a single course, which will show up slightly different on the catalog. But there are cases where you don't necessarily have a single course that needs to be prominently featured, but you want to feature a whole set of courses. For example, you probably want to feature everything under practice material and everything under participation center. In that case, what you do is you can go to administrator, under public catalog setting, under search criteria setting, you can feature the entire practice material, or for example, you can only feature things under video solutions. So for this example, I'm just going to feature this too. So I click on the pencil icon, and then I say this one is featured, and then I can select an icon for it. I can say this one, I will select this icon, and I say, please check out our wide selection of practice materials. Okay. There's going to be a star next to it to show that this whole group is featured. Then we're going to click here, and then let's select another icon, and then we're going to say, please find your test center within all the participation centers here. Okay. Obviously, you can change the message, but now if we switch to the learner view, you will see that the feature is different now. So we have a whole feature section, and when you click on it, you will go to just the practice material. This one is highlighted. Or if you click on participation center, then the participation center is selected. That way, you can promote different sections within your tagging on the main catalog. Remember, even though we're only promoting at the top level here and here in this example, you could promote the second level grouping as well.
Video Summary
In this video tutorial, viewers are taught alternative methods for featuring courses on a catalog. Instead of featuring a single course, users can feature a whole set of courses under different categories, such as practice material and participation center. By accessing the administrator settings under public catalog settings and search criteria settings, users can select the desired categories to feature. The tutorial demonstrates how to feature the practice material and participation center categories by selecting icons and adding captions. When viewed from the learner's perspective, the featured sections appear with their respective courses highlighted. The tutorial highlights that second-level groupings can also be promoted.
