In this video tutorial, we will go over how to use a custom template to market your product. To get us started, I have already created a product called How to Drive a Tesla X. So it's a pretty standard on-demand course and I'm not going to go through how to actually set up the course other than it has content, legalese, additional information, content, the exam, and the evaluation. So very standard on-demand course. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to show what it looks like normally, just so that we have a baseline. So if I search for this course, I click on it and I see a little bit description of the course and I can make the purchase. So suppose you say, hey, this course is a pretty flagship product. Like it's our biggest product for the year. I would like to spend a little bit more time to make the marketing page a little bit prettier. So that is what custom display template comes in. So to do that, what you have to do is you have to set up the template. So you go to tools, page builder, and custom course template. And let's just set up one. I'm not going to spend too much time because this is sort of a creative process and I'm focusing the video tutorial on the mechanical part of the process instead of the creative part of the process. But let's say you say, hey, this one looks like something that I can start with. So I click on that. I'm going to say this one is how to drive Tesla X. Okay. And then basically what you do is you starting off with a template that we already have, and then you can dress up. And the one I'm going to do is I'm going to just say here, this course explains how to drive the latest model X from Tesla. And then let's say, actually, we will teach you how not to drive because it has autopilot. There we go. Just to be a little cheeky. All right. But what we're going to do is let's just change the cover image here. So I'm just going to click on upload and I'm just going to grab a cover image that I had created earlier. It's a little bit too big. So I'm just going to make a little bit smaller. So I'm going to resize it and I'm going to say 200 by 200 is good enough. Save. Okay. Oh, wait, did it save? One second. Oh, it did not save. 200. Apply. There we go. I forgot to hit apply. Then click on save. Okay. So then the main thing that I want to highlight is the button. The button you need to say catlock call underscore two underscore action. Here we go. Action. Okay. So make sure they says call to action on the button. And then what you're going to do is the action type you want to say call to action. That's all you have to do. I'm going to save and preview. So this is what the page looks like. Obviously, you can make this as pretty as you want by really just mess with our custom page builder. But with that said, and then what you do is you go to the course, you go to how to drive Tesla. And then you say, hey, you know what, the display template, I am going to use a special one called how to drive Tesla. So why do that? What I can do now is I'm going to go through the user experience. I'm going to search for Tesla again, and I click on it. Notice it's a completely custom marketing page for the user in order for the user to entice the user to buy it. So here the action call to action is add to cart. They will add to cart. And then, okay. So this, my demo system has a donation configured, so I'm just going to ignore that. And now proceed to checkout. I'm going to use a fake credit card. There we go. Okay. Now when I start, I will basically go through the same process. Okay. It has a little bit description, but the marketing side of it is taken over by the custom page. What it is important to know is that the custom landing page is only displayed to the user one time, one before they buy. If they try to go to it again, if they have already purchased it, I'm no longer trying to sell it. I'm just going to display this. So that's just keeping in mind, you know, you're probably going to do a lot of hard work to get the custom display template to look the way you want it, but the user will only see it once at the time of them deciding whether to pay for it or not. After that, they will go straight to the course. After they pay, they don't have to look at the marketing landing page again. Hopefully this tutorial is useful. Thank you.
