This has recently changed how its promo code works to allow more type of promo code. So this video tutorial will walk through the new way the promo code works. Go to Tools, List, and Promo Code and you will see the screen where all the promo code are managed. So we're going to go through how to set up a promo code so you will see what are the promo code capable of. You can set up a promo code, let's say we call it Mickey Mouse. So that's the promo code the user used to receive the discount. Then you have a few options. You can say this promo code is applied to everything in the system or you pick which course it is applicable for. So as you can see here, you can say this is only applicable to these two courses or you can say it's applied to, you can use this promo code for everything in the system. That's the first option. So we're going to go back to Sitewide. So next you can say who can use this promo code. You can give this promo code to everybody in the system or you can say this promo code is only meant for one or two users, for example. So you can add one user but then you can also add more users later. So for our intended purpose, we're just going to say all users. Next you can say how many times this promo code can be used. So you can say this can be used unlimited number of times or you can use it, say, ten times. The next one is the type of promotion. Is one user typing this promo code, what happens? You can say that they will receive a new price or they can receive a percentage discount or they will, whatever price they add, we're going to subtract $10 or subtract $5. Notice that the price will never go below zero. So if you say that discounted by $10 and you have a product that's $5, then the user will just pay zero. So that is how you can set up a promo code. When you set up a promo code and promo code has been used, it cannot be deleted. That's just because the accounting system within OASIS needs to track how each purchase was made and if there is any difference in the price the user paid from the listing price, the promo code needs to be tracked to justify why the price is lower. So if you need to reuse a promo code, you can always click on the edit icon and just say retired. So you can do that. So I'm not going to do that, but you can do that and also at any given time, if it's not used, you can click on X to delete it. Lastly, you can click on the I icon to retire it. When it's retired, that means it's no longer usable and you can uncheck this box to see all the promo code that has been once in the system with an I with a cross on it. So this is a quick overview of how promo code can be used within OASIS. Remember, promo code is only relevant if you are selling a product in OASIS and user's shopping process stays in OASIS. If you are giving everything out for free or OASIS integrates with your external e-commerce system, then the promo code is not applicable.
