Now, we're going to talk about how to enable fields in OASIS for your user's custom fields. Find any user. It doesn't matter which user you're looking at. Click on custom fields and then click on edit custom field terminology. And in this tutorial, we are going to pretend that we're going to put in the system six custom fields associated with our user account. The first one is going to be degrees. So you will see that there is an edit button here. So you can see that in OASIS, we give you 20 text fields, five long text fields, a bunch date fields, a bunch boolean fields, which is yes or no. And hopefully this is enough. So for the second one, I'm going to say I'm going to use subtract degrees. Next one, I'm going to use gender. Next one, I'm going to do special specialty. And I'm going to put a little space here just so that it's more readable on any report. I'm going to say city, state, and country. As you can see here, I used to have one, I added six more. Now, if I go back to any user account, you will see that these are additional fields and as administrator, I will be able to make changes to these fields. Two things to keep in mind. Number one, typically the administrator do not manually update these fields. These fields are typically populated during the single sign-on process or during some other business rule that you have already worked with the 360 factor team so that the values are automatically updated. So that's one thing very important. You can, if you want, make changes manually. But for example, if I want this data to be driven by single sign-on where the user's single sign-on data payload include the degree information and they get automatically saved to OASIS, if I make a change here, next time the user log in, whatever change I made would have been reverted back to whatever single sign-on says. So just keep that in mind. Most likely, any value here is not meant for administrator to manually update, even though you have ability to do so. The second thing is the custom fields are never, ever, ever exposed to the user so that learner will never know what fields are in the back. So you can consider this field always as office-only field where the user don't know what you say. So those are the couple of things I want to mention. And then what we're going to do is I'm going to highlight this particular information in action. So let's say we look at a particular course. So I'm going to look at this course right here. Just five people, so it's easier to download the data. So I'm just going to download the data. So notice a lot of the information are going to be part of right here. The single SSO profession, all these are added by me earlier. So now I just want to show that once again, this information is part of my Excel file. Even though I just recently edited and nobody actually have a value next to them, you will see that they're always part of the report. Thank you.
Video Summary
This video demonstrates how to enable custom fields in OASIS for user accounts. By accessing custom fields and editing terminology, users can add up to 20 text fields, five long text fields, date fields, and boolean fields. It's important to note that administrators typically do not manually update these fields; they are usually populated during the single sign-on process. Custom fields are not visible to users and are meant for internal use only. The tutorial provides step-by-step guidance on adding custom fields and highlights how the information appears in reports.
