In the second example of external course, we're going to go through a setup where the user will still see a little bit about the course on Oasis before get forwarded to another URL. So the first one we will refer to as a purchase URL based external course. The second one we'll refer to as external URL. So to set it up, I'm actually just going to copy this name just so that saves some typing. So once again, we're also going to do external course, but this time I'm going to say just add a word to behind it just because I'm not very creative with names. And then I will even just use the same product code, but say two. Okay. All right. And then I'm also not going to offer any credit and I'm not going to have any prices, but also I'm not going to have a purchase URL. I'm going to select external URL, and I will also put some additional information because I do want to tell the user what the course is about. And I will also put some enrollment confirmation, and I will explain how that works. And I will click on next, and here is where the URL is going to be. And this time I'm just going to use the purchase URL from the previous example. I'm going to use that as an external URL for this. So now what we have is a course, and what I'm going to do is I'm going to set up some enrollment message. I'm going to say description. I'm just going to type in some description. There we go. Some descriptions, and I'm also going to type in next steps. And I'm going to say please click on proceed, and you understand why I say that. And I'm going to say that after the user has started the course. All righty, and then what I'm going to do is I'm just going to publish, and now I'm going to show what the user experience looks like when it is an external URL based external course instead of purchase URL based. I'm going to come over to the learner side, and I'm just going to refresh my screen. This is the second one. I'm going to click on it. So notice there's a little description now, and I click on get started. And notice description is still here. You can definitely remove it by changing the enrollment message to say this one. I don't want to say it after users start only in the catalog. I can do that, and then it would disappear, but then you would say click on next step, and then you can click on proceed, and you would take the user to the URL you want. So as you can see, there are two possible ways of having a product in Oasis where the user is forwarded to another website. The two possibilities is your purchase URL based or external URL based. The next set of video, we're going to talk about some of the UI customizations you can do to make the experience a little bit more intuitive. Thank you.
Video Summary
This video demonstrates two ways of setting up external courses in Oasis. The first method is called a purchase URL-based external course, where the user is redirected to another URL after viewing course details on Oasis. The second method is an external URL-based external course, where additional information about the course is displayed before redirecting the user to the specified URL. The video shows the process of setting up both types of external courses and explains how to customize the enrollment message and next steps for the user. It concludes by mentioning that the next video will cover UI customizations in Oasis. No credits were mentioned in the video.
