Video Transcription
In the last video tutorial, we explained how a SHICA cannot see any courses because the coordinator for the region that a SHICA is a member of has not taken the opportunity to enroll a SHICA in the course. Just as a reminder, a SHICA belongs to Midwest District, which is a two-step process where after a course is mapped to Midwest, the coordinator has to then take the second step of manually enrolling a SHICA to the course. So this is useful when a particular region does not necessarily want all the users for that region to automatically get all the courses that belong to the region. So we're going to go here, and we see that there are three coordinators that are currently managing the Midwest District, and a SHICA is a member. So what we're going to do is we're going to impersonate as one of the coordinators and see what they can do. As a coordinator, this coordinator happens to be in charge of two different regions, Midwest and West. So let's just go to Midwest, and when they log in, they will see that there are courses that belong to Midwest District, and then they can click on Enroll, and they can enroll a SHICA. So that's one way is you select a course, and you select which user within your region you want to enroll. You can also do the opposite way. You can also click on User, find the user you want to enroll, click on Enroll button, and then select which course you want the user to have access to. So you can go to the course and enroll the users, or you can go to the user and enroll courses. In this case, you can enroll courses when you go to the User Detail page and click on Enrollment. Then you can select which course you want the user to be enrolled in. In this particular case, we're going to impersonate as a SHICA and see that A and C course is available. B is not yet available. As a coordinator, they can impersonate as a user within their group, and you can see A and C is available for a SHICA. So once again, just to repeat, in this particular case, a course has been assigned to the region, and the region's user will not see the courses until the coordinator for that region logs in and enrolls the user in the course themselves. This is why the enrollment is a two-step process. At any given time, the coordinator can log in and enroll users within their region into any course that has been mapped to their region.
Video Summary
This video tutorial explains the process of enrolling a SHICA (a type of user) into courses within the Midwest District. The SHICA is unable to see any courses because the coordinator for their region has not enrolled them. The video demonstrates that coordinators can manually enroll a SHICA in a course by impersonating a coordinator and selecting the course they want the user to be enrolled in. The coordinator can also enroll courses by selecting a user and adding them to the desired course. The enrollment process is a two-step process to ensure that only relevant users within a region have access to specific courses.
