Here we'll cover some high-level concepts behind assessment exam as a product type, and we'll go over some of the details in other video tutorials. When you select assessment exam as a product type, there's some options that's available to you. If you select a regular assessment exam, the experience user will go through is as follows. They can accept a legal lease page, and then if you want, you can give the user the option to take the assessment exam in learning mode or exam mode. Exam mode will submit the exam at the very end, whereas learning mode allows the user to see how they did at each question, so as soon as they answer the first question, they will get a response. If they answer the second question, they will get a response, so they sort of know how they did along the way. Exam mode, they don't know how they did until they submit the entire exam at the very end. So we're just going to pick the learning mode here, and then this video tutorial will show how the experience looks like for assessment exam. They can check answer, and they will get a grade, and they will see the commentary and reference. If you have set them up, they can see a peer comparison of how they did compared with their peers, and they can move on to the next question. And at any time, they can go back, log out, and resume where they have left off. So this is a very standard assessment exam where the user can sort of see how they did along the way or submit at the very end and see how they did overall as a score. In addition, you can set up assessment exam as what we refer to as a pretest. In that example, the user did not see how they did even after they submitted the exam. So it's sort of like a blind exam. So here's an example of how that pretest is done. So when they click on start exam, they can answer, but it says submit instead of check answer, and they don't get a chance to actually see how they did. All they see is blue, and then we just keep answering the questions until the very end. So I'm going to switch over to another view where here's another exam that's also conducted in pre-exam mode in the sense that they don't actually see how they did even after they submit the exam. So after they submit 100 questions, they still have no idea how they did. Optionally, you can turn on the characteristics of a pretest to make a pretest look more and more like a regular assessment exam. So in this example, you can say, even though by default a pretest doesn't show score, I want some characteristic of assessment by showing score. So in the spectrum where a pure pretest doesn't show anything and the full assessment shows everything, you can configure the exam somewhere in between the spectrum by going through some advanced configurations, which we'll go over in a video tutorial later. But the idea of this video tutorial is to highlight what is the difference between assessment exam, which is an exam-based product, where the focus is the exam, versus some other product where there might be a combination of things.
Video Summary
The video discusses the high-level concepts of an assessment exam as a product type. It explains that when selecting an assessment exam, there are options available to the user. They can choose between learning mode or exam mode. In learning mode, the user receives feedback after each question, while in exam mode, they only receive feedback after submitting the entire exam. The video tutorial demonstrates the experience of an assessment exam, where users can check their answers, receive grades, see commentary and references, and compare their performance with peers. Alternatively, a pretest mode can be configured, where users do not receive feedback during or after the exam. The video also mentions the possibility of customization through advanced configurations. No credits were provided. (170 words)
