Video Transcription
In the earlier video tutorial, we showed how to sell only the bundle version without actually making the physical or the digital version available. Sometimes you also want to be able to sell one course and have something else as an add-on. In this quick video tutorial, we'll show how you can set up a course that is your main course and then have the physical item as an add-on, and we're going to set them up as a multi-part. The difference between a bundle and a multi-part is that any course that is within the bundle can still be used inside another bundle, whereas a multi-part means the child of the multi-part can no longer be used in another bundle or standalone. So what we're going to do is we're going to set it up to say this is a multi-part, and it's going to be, for example, Math Textbook Main Course, and then let's say we sell this for $15 and $20. So what's very important here is we're going to say the child, we're not going to create a new one, we're just going to select the one that we created earlier. We can see that these two are the children, and then we're going to publish it. So now what happens is when the learner actually goes to the catalog, they will see the main course, and when they click on it and make a purchase, the system is going to recognize that this particular multi-part requires shipping because it has a physical child, and then it's going to have the shipping information required, but you do have to still fill in the information, and let's just make the purchase. And then notice here, inside this course there are two items, but the two items are not sold separately outside this main course, and it's set up not as a bundle, but as a multi-part.
Video Summary
This video tutorial explains how to set up a course with a physical item as an add-on. Unlike a bundle, where courses can be used in other bundles, a multi-part course restricts the use of its child courses in other bundles or as standalone courses. The video demonstrates how to create a multi-part course, such as a Math Textbook Main Course, and set a price for both the main course and the add-on. When learners purchase the main course, they will be prompted to provide shipping information because of the physical add-on. The main course contains both items, but they cannot be purchased separately outside of the bundle.
