So, in this video tutorial, we'll show various ways you can use the Excel file to import the metadata for courses. To make it easier to highlight what we're doing, I'm going to use the Excel file, but I'm actually just going to update one course, even though I can have more columns. It's just easier to show one, the changes that we're going to make for one, and then we're going to do import where we're going to have a lot more than one. Okay? So, here is the course I'm going to update, and keep in mind the column B, product code, is what Oasis is going to pivot. And I'm just going to duplicate this tab, and on this one, I'm going to go to the metadata to show that... Oh, sorry, that's a keyword. In the metadata, I'm going to see that this is what is in this Excel file, right? As a matter of fact, I just downloaded, so that I'm going to use it as a template. So what I would do is I'm going to show a few ways you can update. The first is I'm just going to replace what's already there, right? So I'm going to say that for program type, I'm going to say certificate program with the S, just so that it's a little bit different. Length, I'm going to say it is less than 60 minutes. And then for the target audience, I will remove diabetes... Actually, give me one second. I will remove... Give me one second. Diabetes educators, right? Remember, this is a semicolon delimited field, so I'm going to remove one of those. And let's say for subtitle, I'm going to say this is a test subtitle, just so that you can see that I can change something that was there, and I am going to add something that wasn't there. And just so you know, the reason the system displayed these four tags, even though this course doesn't have it, is because other courses in the system have these four keys. So the Excel file basically lists all a column for every single metadata key across all the product you have. So I'm just going to save it. And notice I save as new, okay? Then what I'm going to do is I'm going to put this on the one hand, this on the other hand, okay? Then what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to courses, go to course metadata. I'm going to go import, and I'm going to import this particular file that I just downloaded. I just modified. It got new. I'm going to click on validate. And the only thing OASIS really look at is this key right here, right? And then notice that I'm not going to append with this import file. I'm going to replace what is in the system with what's in the Excel file. I'm going to click on import, and I'm done. So now that I have imported, I'm now going to refresh what's on the left-hand side. I'm going to just open the same page on the right-hand side to show what have changed. So notice the certification program has the S now, right? The length has the less than in there, okay? And the subtitle now have this is a subtitle. So you can see that this too has been changed, and this has been added because we have added this from empty to a value, okay? So this is the one type of update that you can make. Thank you.
Video Summary
In this video tutorial, the presenter demonstrates various ways to import metadata for courses using an Excel file. The Excel file is used to update one course initially, showcasing changes for different metadata fields. The presenter shows how to replace existing data, make modifications, and add new information in the Excel file. The file is then saved and imported into the system. After the import, the presenter compares the changes made in the course's metadata on the left-hand side with the original on the right-hand side, highlighting the modifications made. The presenter concludes by mentioning that this is one method of updating course metadata. No credits are mentioned.
