So we're not going to go through how to set up assessment exam or how to set up a multi-part course that contains child courses that is on demand. We're just going to highlight a few important elements in the setup so that we understand how those special elements affect the mechanics of the product. So the first thing I want to highlight is that this pre-assessment is just assessment exam, but you need to cover all the topics that matches the blueprint. That is how we're going to personalize. We're going to personalize based on how the user do well or do poorly on this exam based on which topic he's weak in. That's the first thing. Second thing is for the multi-part course, I want to make sure that each child course is mapped to one of the topic. So that even though the name happens to match esophageal disorder, it is really important that the topic is actually mapped to one of the topic here. So that when the user do poorly in this topic based on the question they missed, I'm going to recommend this module. In addition, this multi-part course, I'm going to click on manage multi-part setting. Make sure that you have enabled allow child add-on and then every single child is an add-on. The idea here is that this multi-part course, every single child doesn't come with a system. It is an add-on and the user will get access to it depending on specific rules that we're going to highlight in a little bit. But it's very important to note that every single one of the child course is an add-on and they all map to only one of the topic that happens to be in the assessment. So these are the settings that doesn't particularly relate to personalization. These are the mechanics that you should already be familiar with a platform, but those features are important when it comes to set up personalization. Now I'm going to introduce another mechanic that is the glue that holds everything together. So remember, I'm going to navigate back to the overall product. Remember, the idea is when the user finished this pre-assessment, which doesn't really have a score, but it doesn't really have a passing score, but it does know how the user did. So I'm going to click into this one. I'm going to go to advanced features. I'm going to go to course trigger. And I'm going to say when the user complete this course, I will personalize and I'm going to personalize the module, this one right here. And then here is the threshold. I can say I will give you the bottom, let's say five modules. That means I will give you five modules in the personalized module child. I'm sorry, parent that has. So remember, when we say bottom threshold five, that means I'm going to take the five topic that you score the lowest in. And I'm going to look for the five modules in here that match those topic. And I'm going to make available to you. So I'm going to click on save. You can also. So remember, this is based on the lowest performing topic from when the user finished pre-assessment. And then I'm going to pick those for the personalization. I can also I'm going to delete it. I can also say when the user finished the pre-assessment, I'm going to personalize this particular course with a threshold of, let's say, 60 percent. What that means is any topic that the user score 60 percent or less will be part of the modules that's available to the user. So what we will do is I'm going to delete it one more time. I will go through the example with the bottom five because it is easiest to show. But the percentage will work equally the same. So here we go. Then I'm going to stop the recording and I'm going to start another recording showing how the user experience looks like. Thank you.
Video Summary
In this video, the speaker discusses how to set up a personalized course assessment using an exam and multi-part courses. They explain that the pre-assessment should cover all topics in the course blueprint and the user's performance will personalize the course based on their strengths and weaknesses. For multi-part courses, each child course should be mapped to a specific topic to recommend modules based on the user's performance. The video also mentions enabling the "allow child add-on" setting for multi-part courses. They introduce the concept of using course triggers to personalize modules based on the user's performance in the pre-assessment. The speaker demonstrates setting a threshold for the bottom five modules or a percentage score. They mention that the video will continue with an example of the user experience.
