We're going to cover another type of enrollment or eligibility idea in Oasis. Suppose you have a webinar here and this webinar, you want it to only give you member access. Non-member, doesn't matter how much money they want to pay, you do not want them to have access. So what you can do is, you can uncheck the box next to the prices and then click on update. This is what Oasis refers to as membership-based eligibility, in the sense that by unchecking the box, you are effectively saying what member type can enroll and what member type cannot enroll. Now, you can put zero or actual price so that the eligible membership level can pay or not pay to access the course. But the main idea here is by unchecking the price next to the membership level, you can control who can be enrolled and who is not enrolled in the course, even if a course is listed as public. So to see this in action, let's look for this course, Fannie Appleton. So we're going to come here and we are going to refresh the screen. Notice that the Fannie Appleton is listed. Because it's public enrollment and it says displayed on the catalog, when I click on it, it's going to say, okay, it's free, do you want to log in? I say, sure. I will log in as my Mickey Mouse account, but notice it's not eligible. And you probably want to have some message here as additional information to explain to the user why they are not eligible to take the course after they have logged in. So that's one way you can control who has access to it based on membership level fairly easily.
Video Summary
In this video, the speaker demonstrates how to use Oasis to control enrollment and eligibility for a webinar. They explain that by unchecking the box next to the prices and updating, a membership-based eligibility system can be set up. This means that only members can enroll in the webinar, regardless of the payment amount. The video also shows how this can be applied to a specific course, Fannie Appleton, even though it is listed as publicly available. When logged in as a non-eligible member, a message can be displayed explaining why they cannot access the course. This feature allows for easy control over who can enroll based on their membership level.
