Video Transcription
We will continue our example from an earlier video to show that the girder design course right now is not displayed to the public, and it's not displayed to the public because the link to the course is not displayed on the catalog. So there is no amount of searching or browsing through the catalog will get the user to the link that will take the user to the course. However, there is a way for you to create a link to the courses. So for example, this is the by default link URL product slash the product code of the course. So let's just go back here. That's a product code. So I can, so Oasis automatically create a link to the course. So suppose I'm going to take this link and a user somehow guessed the link or received the link that's not intended for them. When they try to log, get to it, the user, the system is going to say, you got to log in in order for me to decide whether you can actually see this. So let's say we're going to log in. If I log in as someone who is enrolled, I will be able to add it to the cart, which in this case, I will be able to check off for free. Now suppose I log in as someone else who do not have access to it. So I'm going to log in as Mickey Mouse, which does not have access to it. The system is going to say not eligible. So keep in mind that not only does the website hide the link from the user who is not enrolled in the course, if the user somehow gets the link to the course, the visibility is just one of two layers of protection to make sure that they do not gain access to the course that they are not enrolled in.
Video Summary
This video discusses the issue of girder design course not being displayed to the public because the link to the course is not available on the catalog. However, there is a way to create a link to the course using the product code. If a user somehow guesses or receives the link not intended for them, they would need to log in to see if they have access to it. If they are enrolled, they can add it to the cart for free, but if they are not eligible, the system will deny access. The website hides the link and has additional layers of protection to prevent unauthorized access to courses. No credits were mentioned.
