So what we will do now is I'm just going to click on the course icon under shoulder and I'm just going to add a few courses. So I'm just going to add two courses here. OK, that's the map to shoulders. And what I want to show is as a learner, if I refresh recommended, I don't see any. That is because I expressed my interest in head and in knee, whereas the course that's mapped is for shoulder. So now I'm going to do is I'm just going to say, hey, if you're interested in head area, I'm going to recommend. These three courses. OK. So now if I come over here and I refresh, OK, so these two courses are listed. So you'll see that even though I have three courses recommended, the user only see two. And that is because I'm just going to park it to the left on this screen. And we come over here to show that our recommendation engine will still honor any visibility rules and any private versus public enrollment. And out of the three, if I go to cap pro, you will see that this is hidden from the catalog. That means even though I'm recommending three, the learner will not see cap pro because it is hidden. And which is why cap pro is not here. Now, what I'm going to continue to do is I am going to go to knee. I'm going to add a few more courses this time. I'm going to add one. I'm going to add the two competency program. There we go. Let me just make sure that the second competency is not hidden. OK, so sorry, this is a live event, so I'm not going to recommend a live event. I'm just going to recommend something else. There we go. There we go. So I recommended quite a few. So keep in mind now what I will do is I will come over here and I will refresh. There's more course recommended, but notice that the competency is at the top. The reason the competency is at the top is because this course is recommended both because of the head area and because of the knee area. So if you can think of a point system, this recommendation received two points, which is why it is higher than the rest. Let's pretend a good laboratory. So let's go here. Let's pretend that I also want to recommend the laboratory one. So give me one second. Good laboratory. So I'm just search for good. There we go. So now notice that I'm recommending this within the area of interest called head. That means you will receive two points. So notice that I just refresh the screen. This one is pushed to the top on the list of the recommendation. So hopefully you can see how depending on what area of interest the user have selected and what course is a map to those area of interest, user will receive a list of recommendations and this list is ordered based on how many overlapping recommendation there are. Thank you.
Video Summary
The video explains how a recommendation engine tailors course suggestions based on user interests and associated mappings. If the learner expresses interest in course areas like "head" or "knee," only courses mapped to those areas appear in recommendations. Visibility rules, such as public versus private enrollment, affect which courses are shown. Recommendations are prioritized based on overlapping interests, receiving more points when a course matches multiple user-selected interests. This detailed process ensures learners receive relevant and prioritized course recommendations.
