User Group Meetup 2024-Session 4 - Roadmap and Moonshot Project

Video Transcription

Video Summary

The session discusses ongoing developmental projects, particularly focusing on the Enigma project, including challenges experienced and feedback-driven future steps. The Enigma project, a chatbot for clients' LMS and journals, faced hurdles such as performance issues with OpenAI's technology when handling extensive data. Plans include integrating Enigma's features into the Oasis platform to improve functionality and better demonstrate its utility.

Adoption concerns were also mentioned; clients feared that the chatbot might cannibalize their educational revenue by delivering information quickly, bypassing paid content. Therefore, a new business model may need to be considered.

Further developments include a more intuitive visual configurator to navigate Oasis's settings and configurations, a Netflix-style catalog template for easier and more flexible user configuration, and innovative approaches to custom learning objects beyond traditional SCORM files.

Additionally, the session highlighted a moonshot project aimed at incorporating gamification into the learning management system. Inspired by the success of platforms like Strava and Kahoot, the focus is on creating a mobile app to deliver engaging, gamified learning experiences, potentially incorporating AI to generate educational content efficiently.

Meeting participants were encouraged to ask questions, revealing issues related to Cronbach Alpha in exams and the possibility of supporting XAPI. However, some needs like changing course types in Oasis remain unresolved due to the complexity of underlying systems.
