Hello, this is first of several video tutorials where we're going to showcase some of the reports that allows you to review and analyze how users are searching on your catalog and how you can take those search terms and try to improve your education offerings. Keep in mind that what we're really trying to do is as a learner when they do a search for example when they do MCC cat for example and if they find something we're trying to correlate what they're looking for and whether they find something or not and whether you are offering product that matches what your learner is looking for. So that's really the question we are trying to solve in this set of features and to access the feature where you go is you go to report catalog search report you go search insight. Keep in mind the catalog search record is a fairly old report that is still very useful because it gives you a list of actually I'm just going to click on it you give you a list of all the search terms that the user are searching and also how many matches come back and how many times people clicked on it but today's video tutorial we're going to focus on the second one which is the search insight. So when you go to search insight you will notice that there's a few time ranges you can pick you can pick lifetime which obviously is from beginning until the the most recent month in this case is December 24th because I'm recording this in January 2025. You can also select last year, last quarter, last month or you can select a custom day range. In today's tutorial I'm going to select last year but notice when I select last year the data has already been populated and that is because I have actually run this report earlier today and the system is now going to rerun the report if you've already run it earlier and the date range haven't changed. So just keep that in mind when you need to run this report and you select last year for example and if you have not run that report the data is not going to be here and you had to click on generate report in order to run it. So the next set of tutorials we're going to go over each tabs and what they do but the first video tutorial hopefully you understand what these set of reports are meant to do and how you can find these reports in the system. Thank you
Video Summary
This tutorial series introduces reports to analyze search terms in your catalog. It aims to align user searches with educational offerings by correlating search results with learner needs. The focus here is on the "Search Insight" report, which provides detailed search data. Users can select various time ranges, like last year, to review search interactions. The tutorial explains accessing these reports and emphasizes that certain data might require generating reports if not previously run. Upcoming tutorials will dive deeper into individual report features.
