going to go through another example, actual use case, where OASIS allows you to give journal article reviewer opportunity to claim credit that they have earned as part of peer review process for journal article. So we're going to set up the self-reported activity and let's call it Journal Review Credit Claim. And this one, we're going to say that you can do unlimited. There is no limit to how many you can earn because you can review as many articles as you want. And suppose that you can only claim one up to three in the increment of one credit. And in this particular example, what we want to do is we want to turn on disclosure and instruction because we want to show some more complicated workflow and we also want to do an approval process and evaluation. So basically, we're turning on five steps in the credit claim to show you what the user experience looks like. And here, the disclosure often referred to as acknowledgment, we can say, you know, please read the disclosure and the acknowledgment. I cannot spell acknowledgment, so I'm just going to copy and paste. Acknowledgment, disclosure, okay, section below. So let's just say that's a word that they have to accept here. Please claim one to three credit by providing the journal article number. must be approved before you can receive credit. So notice that this is just an instruction that a user can read and understand. All right. And now that I have set it up, I'm gonna set up some fields. So for this one, we can say, please enter the journal article number. Okay, so let's say the format is number, number, dash, Suppose there's a format to the article number. So you want to put that in there so the user knows exactly what to type. And let's say we're gonna say this is a required field. Notice there's a identifier field. The idea of identifier field is that if you submit an article with article number, the next time you submit the same request, you can now use the same article number. So I'm gonna say here. Okay, and let's say we have another field called, Suppose this is just a field, yes and no field, it's required, but it is office-only in the sense that you want to make sure that the user submits this within, let's say, the year that the article is published, and the user cannot claim credit for the article they reviewed two or three years ago. So let's say this is just what we set up, and you can also do an evaluation at the end, so we're just going to do one evaluation, but obviously you can have more and more questions. So, did the review process help you with learning? Let's just make this a very simple yes or no. So, we are not trying to make it complicated, we just want to show the mechanics. So now I'm going to publish. So, what happens now is, as a learner, I'm going to come over here, and I'm going to run through this example. Notice that there's a little acknowledgement that I had to accept, and then I can continue. And notice the instruction is right here, so you can make this as long and as verbose as you want. And let's say we just put the article number. Notice that the office-only field is not displayed, because that's something for the admin to do. And then let's say I'm going to claim two credits. And I'm going to be able to submit another one, accept the acknowledgement again, and this time I'm going to say 222-33444. And this time I'm going to claim three. So, there we go. You can see that I have submitted two requests, but there is an approval process. So I'm going to come back here as administrator. What I'm going to do now is I'm going to click on the two submissions, and I'm going to approve them. So, I'm going to say it is submitted on time, and then I'm going to approve. So now I'm going to go back to the list. So this one has been approved. This one I'm going to also approve. So now that it has been approved, I'm going to change the browser back to the learner browser and reload the page. You will see that the user's request has been approved, but the user does not receive credit yet, because there is an evaluation at the end. And then just because we turned on the workflow to have an evaluation step. So I can go click on here, do the evaluation, and I'm going to, obviously we only have one question, so this is a very simple evaluation. But as you can see, when I submit the evaluation, I will receive the credit that I have requested. And then I can go to the next one and also complete the evaluation, and then receive credit. So you can see, after the administrator approved the request, the user still has to step in to fill in the evaluation before the credit is received. So that's another use case that's slightly more complicated.
Video Summary
The video discusses a use case of OASIS, where it allows journal article reviewers to claim credit for their peer review work. The example demonstrates the setup of a self-reported activity called Journal Review Credit Claim. Users can earn unlimited credits by reviewing as many articles as they want, but can only claim one to three credits at a time. The setup includes turning on disclosure and instructions, an approval process, and an evaluation step. Users need to accept the disclosure and provide the journal article number to claim credit, which must be approved before they receive credit. The video also shows how administrators approve user submissions and how users complete evaluations to receive the claimed credits. No credits were mentioned in the transcript.
