In this video tutorial, we will go over how to set up the badging capabilities within OASIS. As with most features in OASIS, to enable it, you need to log in as administrator, click on dashboard, click on course layout, and then, in our case, we're going to turn on gamification, and badging is actually part of achievement feature. So we're just going to click on achievement. After we click on achievement, we can click on achievement configuration. This is one way to get to the setup section. You can also go to tools, list, and achievement to get to this section. When you arrive at this section, there's a few things you can do. You can say that for my achievement, the learner will receive a special badge. So we're going to focus on the badging capability instead of receiving a certificate capability. And because it's strictly for badge, I'm just going to click on save here. I'm just going to call it badge. And then, notice if I go to list now, the system is going to be smart enough to refer to the whole achievement as badges. It just creates an easier and intuitive reference to this feature. So instead of saying achievement, we're going to call it badges. But just keep in mind, badging is essentially something the user achieves. And in this video tutorial, we'll also go over how to set up the badging with integration to LinkedIn. So we're going to click on setup required. And I'm going to put in the organization ID and the organization name that I have already set up inside LinkedIn. If you're not sure how to get this information, this is the OASIS University's information that I have already set up in LinkedIn. You can click on this link and follow the instruction on exactly how to register your organization on LinkedIn. So I'm just going to click on save. And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to say that when the user receives a badge, they can share it directly under LinkedIn. And the last thing I want to mention is that right now, OASIS comes with only one template to configure what your badge looks like. It is referred to as a four-section template. And when we set up a badge, you'll very quickly understand why we refer to it as a four-section. But keep in mind that over time, we might be able to introduce more layout for badges. And you're welcome to reach out to us if you have any ideas. So this is the first video on how to enable badging. In the next set of videos, we'll talk about how to set up videos and the user's experience. Thank you.
Video Summary
This video tutorial explains how to set up badging capabilities within OASIS. To enable badging, log in as an administrator, click on the dashboard, select course layout, and turn on gamification. Click on achievements, then achievement configuration. In this section, you can choose to award learners a special badge instead of a certificate. Save the settings and name the badge. The system will now refer to achievements as badges for easier referencing. The video also covers integrating badging with LinkedIn. To set this up, enter the organization ID and name for the LinkedIn integration. Users can then directly share their badges on LinkedIn. OASIS currently offers a four-section template for badge configuration, but more layouts may be introduced in the future. Contact the OASIS team with any ideas. The video concludes by mentioning upcoming tutorials on setting up videos and user experience. The video is credited to OASIS University.
