Suppose you have this particular achievement for badging that instead of requiring all, you just require three activity completed out of all the available courses, except the pool of courses that's eligible changes all the time. So what you can do is instead of adding courses one at a time, you can add a course group. But before we add a course group, what we need to do is we need to actually create a course group. So I'm going to say Marketing Courses. And keep in mind that creating a course group is something that you can do for a variety of reasons in OASIS. One of them is now managing the eligible courses for badging. So suppose I created this course and I have four things listed out of the five courses that I have in my demo site. Now if I go back here and I click on Add, I can basically say, hey, I would like to have any courses that's listed here. So these are the four courses. And then let's say you move on and a few days later you realize that some of the courses need to be swapped in or swapped out. So what you can do is you can just change the course group. You can say, hey, you know what, I'm going to remove the document repository because for badging purpose, you cannot finish document repositories. I'm not going to include that. And then I'm going to include this one. So basically same, also four courses, but I remove one and add another one. Right. So keep in mind, ideally, this will change, but for performance reasons, we don't change it in real time just because the course groups have effect on a lot of things. And we want to reduce the amount of system stress. So what I would do is I'm just going to pause the video and then trigger a manual sync and show what happens. OK, so now that I have manually triggered sync instead of waiting for system to sync in its delay timer, I want to show that this is what used to be a list of courses, including, of course, this one. That's a document repository. What I would do is I'm going to duplicate it. I'm going to refresh the screen. And then you can see that it is gone. And the setup anti-malware in Microsoft infrastructure is listed as another one. So notice the pool of courses that user can complete to earn the badge is following whatever is in the course group. So that's one way you can manage a badge rules a little bit more efficiently. Another one you can do is instead of adding user one at a time, you can also enroll a user group. In this case, I'm just going to create a user group here. So I'm just going to say eligible. Eligible for marketing badge. OK. And for this example, I'm just going to manually add a few members. I'm just going to say one, two, three. Now that I have that group set up, I'm going to say I'm going to enroll anyone that is in this group can access this private badge. Right. And keep in mind this. In order to reduce the stress on the system, we basically update the list of users from the group once a day. But you can click on sync to do a manual sync. So as you can see here, you can essentially enroll either user to a private badge or a group of user to a private badge. Thank you.
Video Summary
The video transcript discusses how to manage badge criteria more efficiently in the OASIS platform. Instead of requiring completion of all courses for a badge, only three out of the available courses are needed. Course groups can be created to manage the eligible courses for badging. These groups can be modified, adding or removing courses as needed. However, changes in course groups are not updated in real-time to reduce system stress. Manual syncing can be triggered to update the course listing. Additionally, users can be enrolled individually or in user groups for private badges, with the option to manually sync the user list from the group. No credits were mentioned in the video.
