Video Transcription
So, in this video tutorial, we'll go over how to add video chapters to an existing video. Note that it is always recommended to have a long video that is spliced into multiple videos for users to consume. But if you have a single video that you want to have chapters, this is what you do. So I'm just going to go ahead and I'm going to upload a video. So I'm going to upload a video, just a random video from my computer, and I'm going to say a video with chapters. Okay, just so I know that. And keep in mind that if you have a chapter, it is necessary for you to say that it is not required, because if you make the video required, user will not be able to fast forward to the chapter. So I'm going to click on that, and if I scroll down, this is the video with the chapter. There's an icon next to the video asset, I click on it, and it is still being processed. So I do have to wait for the video to be processed in order to start adding, tagging chapters to it. So let's just take a look. Oh, there we go. It is done. I'm going to click on it. So now what I'm going to do is I can add chapters. So I can play it, and then I can figure out where the user is, I can pause it, and I can add a chapter. It will automatically take whatever I paused it to say this is, let's say, introduction. I can say one dot introduction. You can also just add, and if you know exactly what the timer is, you can say, okay, 45 seconds into the recording, I'm going to have another one, let's call it mission statement. So you can do that, and then you can drag along to say, hey, here is, I'm going to add a chapter. Actually, it's not 06, it's probably 08, and I'm going to say this is, let's say, conclusion. There we go. So whatever chapter you want to say, it looks like I already forgot to follow my own naming convention, which is I put the, so you can obviously delete and add a new chapter. So I'm going to say 45 seconds into it, I'm going to say two dot mission statement. There we go. As you can see, after you list them, you can click on close. So then the system actually will tell you that it has three chapters in it, okay? So now that it has three chapters in it, I'm just going to switch over, just, I've already have this product open as learner, there's a little icon here indicating that this one has chapters. When I click on it, you will see that I can jump to a different part of it, I can jump to the next one, I can jump to the next one. When I mouse over, I will also, I'm just going to, I can also mouse over and see what the chapter name is. So that's what it looks like if the video has chapters, and you obviously can put multiple videos to have chapters, and the layout is slightly different if it's only video in the course. So I'm just going to delete everything else here to show you what happens if a product only has one video instead of multiple, like what I'm showing here. This is just a demo set I have, so I don't have a problem deleting them. So I'm just going to delete, delete, delete, okay, just give me one second, it's almost there. All right, there we go. So now this course only has one content, one video as a learning content. Okay, this is, oh my goodness, this is a 460 meg file, so it's going to take a little bit to delete. I'm going to pause the video. Oh, actually, it just finished. Okay, so I'm just going to refresh. So there we go. So if it's the only thing in the system, then the layout is different, and the user can use the navigation bar on the right-hand side to jump around. So this is how you can add a video chapter to a video. Thank you.
Video Summary
In this video tutorial, the speaker demonstrates how to add video chapters to an existing video. They mention that while it is recommended to have a long video split into multiple videos for user consumption, it is possible to add chapters to a single video. The speaker uploads a video and explains that the video needs to be processed before adding chapters. They show how to add chapters at specific timestamps by pausing the video and entering chapter names. They also mention the importance of allowing users to fast forward to chapters by not making the video required. The tutorial concludes by showing the different layout when a course only has one video. No credits are mentioned.

Though it is recommended to split your long videos into smaller video clips, OasisLMS also allows you to add chapter points within a long video.
