Sometimes, you might want to send a notification to the user, either about an upcoming outage, or about certain changes in the rules, or anything that you just want to alert the user. I'm going to show you how to use our notification system at a very simple level to make such notification. So, I'm going to have one browser open as a learner, and I'm also going to have another browser open as administrator. So I'm going to go to Tools, Notification Manager, and the System Notification Manager. And I'm just going to add a very simple notification. I'm going to put this message on the user homepage, public page, and a bubble notification, and I will show you exactly what those all mean. And for this example, what I will do is I will make sure that the user gets a message about not sharing their OASIS University account, but instead reach out to the support and request a new one. So here is the message. I'm going to copy and paste. So what the message says is just simply, if you have a new team member who needs access to OASIS University, please do not share your login with the new member. Instead, please reach out to support at OASIS LMS, and we'll create an OASIS for him or her. In addition, if you aren't sure if you already have an OASIS University account, please click on this link to see if you have an account already. So that's all I will say. Notice, because it's on a public page, you have to allow people to dismiss it. So I'm just going to click on Save. So this is the message. I'm going to come over here to the user side. I'm just going to refresh. So as you can see, this is considered a bubble notification. The bubble notification is displayed everywhere on the website. Doesn't matter where you are. So even if the user is already deep into the system, you can still set a bubble notification to make sure that it comes up. This is considered a home. So over here, you can see the user will always see it here. And you can also, if I log in, I said I'm going to log in. I still see it even after I have logged in. And I can click on my courses, and I can still see it. So this is considered the user homepage, which is the checkbox right here. I can uncheck it and uncheck this one. Here we go. So they will only show up. So it's not going to show up here. It will only show up on the catalog, which is public page. But because I already dismissed it, it's not going to show up anymore. So hopefully, this gives you a few ideas of how to communicate any sort of a system-wide notification to your user. One other note is that whenever OASIS does a maintenance, which is two in the morning, our operation team actually uses the exact same method to communicate to your user, or any user still using the website at two in the morning, that we are updating the system, which will typically have a five-minute downtime. Thank you.
