Another layer of security to your PDF assets is adding a watermark. In this video we are going to look at how to do just that, adding your watermark to your PDF files. First we need to upload your image to serve as a watermark. So on the left side of your dashboard is the style sheet setting and you click on it and you will see that the second field is the upload watermark field. So you select an image that will serve as your watermark. We recommend the same size as your PDF file which is around 8.5 x 11. After you have uploaded it, you save the watermark. Now we can go to the courses. This is a course I have pre-populated with PDF files and you can see we have the original PDF over here and on the lower right you will have options of turning on or off the watermark, the printability or the downloadability. So I have created several iterations of the same file where it is watermarked, watermarked, printable but not downloadable and watermarked and downloadable. So let's look at that at the user side. Here is the original PDF. So this is how your original file looks like. This is the watermark, no print. So you can see there is no print icon on this side and you see the watermark image that we uploaded behind the text of your PDF. Let's see the other. We have the watermark, printable, no download. So this is watermarked. You can print it and the watermark will appear in the print but you cannot download it. And the last file is watermarked and downloadable. So it is watermarked as you can see. It is downloadable and if a PDF is set to downloadable, the print icon automatically turns on because we assume that if you have downloaded the file, you have the ability to print it regardless of our settings anyway. So we just let the print icon appear when you choose the download file. So as you can see the download file but you don't have to tick the print file anymore. So that is how you add watermark to your files.
Video Summary
The video explains how to add a watermark to PDF files for added security. To begin, an image is uploaded as the watermark, ideally matching the size of the PDF file. Once uploaded, the watermark is saved. In the course section, options are available to turn the watermark on or off, as well as control printability and downloadability. Different iterations of the same file are shown, with watermarks, print restrictions, and download restrictions. The original PDF is displayed alongside the watermarked versions, demonstrating the appearance and functionality of each option. The process is concluded by noting that if a PDF is set as downloadable, the print icon will automatically appear. No credits were provided.
