Hello in this video tutorial we'll cover exactly how the credit expires when a course expires so I'm going to use a course demo 8 which offers one CME but it expires March 31st 2023 so in about two months so suppose a user that is going to take this course so I'm going to I have also logged in as myself which will be taking this course suppose that I took the course while the course is still published okay so we're going to take this demo course and remember this course has not expired and it offers one CME so what I will do is I will actually do the course all the way to the end without claiming the credit as a last step okay so I'm not going to claim the credit so I'm just going to leave and pretend that it's two months later obviously I'm not going to keep this recording open for two months so I'm just going to manually retire this course okay fantastic now that I have manually retired this course when the user revisit the course it says that the credit has expired and the user did not get the credit on time so what can the user do now so the user probably going to call you a little bit upset even though it is his fault okay a few things you can do first is that you can go to manage features you can turn on reminder email and then what you can do is in for future cases you can let user know when a course is about to expire so that for one days before seven days before you can let's say 14 days before right you can definitely say whatever you want and so we will only send this reminder email to people who have started the course that is about to expire and they have not claimed the credit and then you can definitely use a pencil icon to change the email message so suppose the user ignored all three notifications and they still complain about a mistake that they have made what you can do is you can go to detail you can find that user which happens to be me and what you can do is notice under the accreditation area you can click on the pencil icon and you can mark it as claimed so i'm just going to do that so when you do that what happens here is i'm just going to refresh the screen notice that it's going to mark as complete claimed so now there's a few things on the mention when you do this way we do not invoke any web services so that if let's say we have integrations with either parse accme cp monitor there's a lot of places we integrate with that process will have to also be done manually that's number one number two is suppose the user started the product very very late so i deleted it pretend that the credit is not even on this area when you click on here you will notice that you can even click on display retired credit to add some credit back so as administrator you definitely have ability to make a angry customer go away by making changes as administrator on a case by case basis but oasis does not have ability to wholesale give everyone a buffer of say a week after the expiration and still claim credit that has already expired thank you
Video Summary
In this video tutorial, the speaker explains how credits expire when a course expires. They use a course demo that expires on March 31st, 2023, as an example. The speaker goes through the process of taking the course without claiming the credit, and then manually retires the course. When the user revisits the course, they are informed that the credit has expired. The speaker suggests turning on reminder emails to notify users when a course is about to expire. They also show how administrators can manually mark credits as claimed if a user complains about not receiving credit. The video concludes by stating that there is no way to extend expired credits automatically. (No credits granted)
