if you have a group of users that you want to give access to some of the courses or all of the courses for free there's a couple ways you can do it so  the easiest way is just go to tools, list and create a user group that contains this list of users that need to have access to free courses  so let's say a typical example is staff should have free access to the  or maybe some board members should have access to free courses because they're board members so let's just create a group called staff  and then what we're going to do is we're just going to manually add a few users there so here we go I'm going to add a member let's say I'm going to add  three random users you can obviously do a better job of picking the right person in the staff but imagine all staff group has been created  so now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to any courses that I want to I want them to have free access so let's say I want them to have access to this product  so what you do is you can go to configuration and under free access group you can say anyone that is in all staff will have free access to this product  so this will be an easy way for you to decide which course can give free access to a designated group so that's a very structured way of parsing out free access to people that  meet a particular characteristics
