walkthrough will show how Oasis handles a free product differently. In the first example, we're going to have a product called Tom's Test and it's free, zero dollars, but notice the store code we configured is Tom. That means we want the user to make a purchase so that there's a history reflecting that they made the purchase, even though it's zero dollars, and then we will match this purchase history to give them user access. So if you configure a store code with something to match, this is how the user experience will look. So I'm going to switch to the learner and I'm going to search for the product I just... so it says free, so I can click on it. I still have to add to cart, I still have to make the purchase, and then the purchase flow kicks in and the user will have to make the actual purchase even though it's zero dollars. So we're not going to show how that purchase works. Now we're going to show how the user flow works if you don't want the user to go through the transaction because it's zero cost. So what we're going to do is we are going to go back to the product, except I'm going to change the store code to a star. This means tell the system, even if it's free, I actually don't care. I will give everyone access. So click on update. So now what happens is I'm going to impersonate as a user who do not have access to this product yet. So here we go. So I'm going to make a purchase of this product and show the difference in the behavior. So now I can click on start and get started right away without actually going through the purchase process. The reason is that the access code is, the store code is a star wildcard, which means no purchase required. I'm letting you in directly. So even if you have a product that's free, depending on how you configure the store code, the system can behave differently by forcing the user to go through a zero dollar transaction or give user access to it directly.
Video Summary
In this video walkthrough, the speaker demonstrates how a product called Tom's Test is handled differently in Oasis, based on the configuration of the store code. When the store code is set as "Tom", users are required to make a purchase, even though the product is free, in order to have a purchase history and gain user access. On the other hand, when the store code is set as "*", users are granted immediate access to the product without going through the transaction process. The video highlights how the behavior of the system varies depending on the store code configuration, either requiring a zero-dollar transaction or giving direct user access. No credits were mentioned in the transcript.
