to the previous example with this annual meeting that has three levels of nesting essentially. It might become very difficult for the user to know that the particular talk that they're interested in is under platform presentation, feature platform presentation, and all the way here to, for example, intertwined diagnostic. Suppose that becomes a difficult proposition for the user to find. What can we do? All we have to do is we're just going to switch over to the admin view. For this particular course, click on manage features and check the box that says allow document search. Then what we have is, let's go back to the learner view and let's just go back to the page. Notice that there's a new box called search shows up. I can actually just paste what I copied earlier and I can find that talk. As you can see, there's even a tick mark letting me know that I actually have already watched it. So, by checking a single box, you automatically allow OASIS to give user ability to search. In addition, there is this idea of, I'm going to clear this, there is this ability of filter. How does OASIS automatically recognize the filter? The way that filter works is we're going to switch over to admin view to show you. There's a lot of hard work to tag your content in order for them to get picked up by filter. So, we're going to go to wonder course to see how they're tagged. So, let's go to here and for the content, select this one. There is a little tag icon that's green which suggests that it has been tagged. So, if I click on it, you'll see that I've already put in which track it belongs to, which session it belongs to, and what speaker they belong to as a metadata for this course. As long as you do them consistently and tag all the content, the filter will help the learner find things. This can be anything you want. You can actually put topic. Let's say this one, let's put Mickey Mouse. Then what happens is if I click close and then jump over to the learner side and I'm just going to refresh the screen. If I look at the there's going to be a topic with Mickey Mouse show up. So, as you can see here, it's completely you reap where you sow. The more you tag, the more things the learner can filter on. So, that is how you can make your vast amount of recording easily discoverable by your learners. But keep in mind, you do have to check the box to enable search. If you want to filter, you do have to tag your content in order for the filter to get picked up.
Video Summary
In this video, the speaker discusses how to make it easier for users to find specific content within a platform. They demonstrate how enabling document search and tagging content with metadata can greatly enhance the user experience. By checking a single box in the admin view, users can search for specific talks or presentations. Additionally, by consistently tagging content with relevant information such as track, session, and speaker, learners can use filters to narrow down their search results. The more content is tagged, the more options learners have to filter their search. However, it is important to note that enabling search and tagging content are separate processes and both need to be done for optimum results.
