Oasis has a mental shortcut when user is about to start a product. So if the user is here, where my mouse is circling, and the user tries to access a product, the first thing the system does is to say, have you started this product? Note that if the user has started the product, we will give user access to the product right away. We don't actually check. So this step make the entire user experience much faster and make the system more resilient if your entitlement system, which could be your AMS, is down. If your AMS is down, but user has already started the product, notice that we don't have to check your AMS. We just give user access to the product right away. Now, if the user have not started the product, we will then check if the user has been given manual access, sometimes referred to as backdoor access to the product. So in your system, if you look for the button that says grant access, that allows you to give explicit or backdoor access to the product. So Oasis will check to see if the user have the backdoor access to the product. If yes, we'll give user access. If no, we will then check if the user has purchased this product according to the entitlement, which is always going to be based on the store code, matching the store code of the product with the purchase code of the user's purchase history. And if there is a match, we will give user access to the product. If no, we will send the user to purchase the product. It is very important to understand the middle section, where even though intuitively you only assume that the system check if a user has purchased product according to the entitlement, Oasis actually have two other checks. This allows the system to be faster and more resilient. Keep this in mind while you look at other tutorials within this section, because the step one will become critical when it comes to refunding or revoking user's access. Thank you.
Video Summary
In this video, it is explained how Oasis, a system, has a mental shortcut when a user is about to access a product. If the user has already started the product, they are given immediate access without checking the entitlement system. However, if they haven't started the product, Oasis checks if they have backdoor access. If they do, access is granted. If not, Oasis checks if the user has purchased the product based on the store code matching the purchase code in their history. If there is a match, access is granted, otherwise, the user is prompted to purchase the product. This shortcut improves user experience and system resilience. Understanding this process is important for refunding or revoking user access. No credits were mentioned in the video.
