Video Summary
The presentation introduced Circle, a new community built on 360Factor’s platform, The Commons. The project responds to clients’ interest in more community-focused learning and aims to move beyond Oasis’s existing community feature, which has often seen little engagement. Drawing inspiration from chat platforms such as Discord and Slack, Circle makes chat the main entry point while also offering discussion forums, resources, direct messaging, polls, and member networking.

Circle is currently separate from Oasis, except that users can access it through Oasis. Communities can be public, private, or approval-based, and administrators can choose which features each community includes. The longer-term goal is to explore ways to connect community activity with learning, such as creating spaces for learners taking the same course.

The team emphasized that Circle is an experiment: they do not yet know whether chat-based communities will work well beyond gaming or whether the platform will suit clients’ learners. Their immediate goal is to create a useful, active space for Oasis users, gather feedback, and share product updates. Email digests and mobile notifications may be added later. They encouraged attendees to join, try the platform, and suggest improvements.
