Hello, in this video tutorial, we will talk about the concept and the mechanics behind a credit eligibility. The credit eligibility mechanics in OASIS is not enabled by default. You have to reach out to support team and we have to have the discussion around exactly what is your organization's credit eligibility rule. Today I'm going to use the example with this particular client where they offer quite a bit of credit for any given course. So now each course doesn't have to offer every single credit that's listed here. It is entirely possible, for example, for this course to say offer everything except ASWB, right? But the idea is a course can offer a lot of credit types. When that happens, if we don't have credit eligibility, any user who is taking this course will receive every single credit that the course offers, which may or may not be what you want. If you want to restrict what the user can receive for taking a particular course, you will need our credit eligibility mechanics. So we're going to write this down, it's what's referred to as a credit eligibility rule, right? So now in today's tutorial, we will explain an example of user profession-based credit eligibility rule, which is highlighted in this Excel file. As you can see, it's basically Excel file that maps all possible user profession against all the credit that the system offers with a little X indicating what credit that profession can receive. For example, if a nurse come in, the nurse will receive ANCC credit, COP, and ANCC pharma. So that nurse will not be able to receive any other credit that does not have an X. Obviously, if a course doesn't offer ANCC pharma, then they will only receive the credit that has X, right? So it's basically the intersection of what the user is eligible for and what the credit the course offers. Now this is referred to as profession-based user credit eligibility. In OASIS, you can have any different type of credit eligibility rule, but for my demonstration and tutorial purpose, we are going to continue our tutorial with a user profession-based credit eligibility rule. So once again, I'm just using this as an example where it is user profession-based. Now depending on your credit eligibility rule, you might use user profession, you might use other user attributes or other business rules, which is why you have to reach out to our support team to explain what is your eligibility rule so that we can make sure we can execute that. And exactly how the credit eligibility rule will work in reality, in practice, will show in the next video tutorial. But the first one is to highlight the idea of what is a credit eligibility. Thank you.
Video Summary
In this video tutorial, the concept and mechanics of credit eligibility in OASIS are discussed. By setting up credit eligibility rules, users can receive specific credits based on their profession. This ensures that users only receive credits they are eligible for, enhancing the learning experience. Different eligibility rules can be implemented depending on user attributes or business rules. The tutorial showcases a profession-based credit eligibility rule using an Excel file mapping user professions to available credits. This initial explanation sets the stage for a detailed demonstration of how credit eligibility rules work in practice in the next tutorial.
