So, I have changed my profession back to social worker, and as you can see, this course offers all the credit under the sun, but I can only claim this too. So pretend that as a user, I have went ahead and claimed the credit. Now, I want to show one very important thing. This is the credit the user received. Notice that this course itself does not reflect the new credit eligible, the new credit that's eligible to the user. Instead, it is displaying what the user has already claimed. So this is what we mean when we say that when you claim the credit, it is not retroactive if your credit eligibility changes in the future. Just because you are a nurse last year and claimed nursing credit, and if your profession changes this year to a physician, does not mean that the credit you received last year for nursing magically become a medical credit. Credit eligibility is not retroactive. Any changes is only forward-looking. This is very, very important because oftentimes, the user will call and complain that the credit they are getting is not what they want, and if you look at the logs, it's very likely that the user have went through a change in profession, and the credit that they are saying is missing actually is credit that's not missing based on their previous profession, but is missing based on their new profession. But because the credit eligibility rule is never backward-looking, is never retroactive, they think the system has robbed them of some credit that they should have been eligible for. Thank you.
Video Summary
The speaker discusses the importance of understanding that credit eligibility for courses is not retroactive when a user changes professions. They emphasize that just because you claimed credit previously in a different profession, it will not automatically apply to your new profession. The system only reflects credits that have been claimed, not those that may be newly eligible. This forward-looking approach to credit eligibility can cause confusion for users who expect previously claimed credits to carry over to a new profession. It is crucial to remember that credit eligibility is based on your current profession and not retroactively adjusted.
